Cellphones on dates

If a guy answers his cell phone or reads a text on a date, it’s usually automatically a no for me. (I don’t say no for only this reason, but it’s definitely taken into account). I’ve turned my phone on silent for every single one of the dates I’ve ever been on. Why is it so hard for guys to do the same? It might not be that it’s hard for them to be without their phone for a few hours, but maybe it’s that they just don’t realize it’s rude. Which in my book, is way worse. A guy without tact is such a turnoff.

Ooooooh, its so obnoxious when they do that. It's like saying "you're not worth my time"

GQ has a whole guide to being a gentleman, and under dating and tech savvy guys it mentioned keeping your phone on silent. If you must take a call/email - at least tell the person "i'm expecting an important work-related call/email, is it okay if i take this?" or wait until you go into the bathroom to check your phone.

(i'll admit that on one or two tough/bad dates i've texted under the table - sneaky sneaky!)

Unless it's further along in the relationship, absolutely agreed, unless you've done what Stam mentioned.

Stam - I just don't comment by you, because I know you want it. :)

I never bring my phone a dates. I was on a date once and we were watching other dates (wierd I know) and we noticed a guy texting under the table while the girl blabbed on and on- wish I could have got that on film

I fail to see the humor in a guy texting under the table while a girl speaks. Shame on him. It's scary that someone who is this immature thinks he is ready for marriage.
