Yom Kippur

A few points I wanted to make now that Yom Kippur is over:

~I love my shul.
~I always dread Yom Kippur, but when its actually happening, it's not really so bad.
~Walking to shul at 5:30am is so refreshing.
~It's surprising how many people are out jogging at 5:30am
~No matter how early I go to sleep the night before, I'm still falling asleep during kriyas hatorah.
~More people have fake Crocs than the real ones.
~Even when I wear 2 sweatshirts and a coat, I'm still freezing cold at shul.
~A whole shul of people not wearing deodorant, starts to smell by neilah.
~Little kids think its "cool" to daven at naiytz.
~The mens shoes are always the most fun to look at.
~There's never enough room for the men in shul.
~At the naiytz minyan, it's a very big deal where the girls sit.
~Coming to the naiytz minyan after the regular minyan has already started is cheating.
~Always bring 2 cars to shul, so that when Yom Kippur is over, you don't have to wait around for your father to daven maariv and kiddush lvanah!

AWWWW you davened at "my" neitz minayn??

i call it "mine" because i used to go way back when before any of these people thought it was COOL to go.
i think the only other girl there at the time was one of the N----n girls and maybe a Bl--h.
Then it started to get so full and cramped and smelly. we used to have a table per person. sigh.
this year i had to go to a regular minyan.
also i thought we always learned we could use deodorant, just not intentional smelly stuff like perfume.

lol the only ppl who think its "cool", are girls in like 5th grade who for some reason want to wake up at 5am.... the ppl who go now are mainly ppl whos fathers daven at i or ppl who like having a 2 hour break instead of the 45 min break that the regular minyan gets. ive been going for like 5 years already! by rosh hashana it was pretty full, but on yom kippur there was like half that amount. oh and also they do it different now- theres only one long table against the mechitza- so thats why its a huge deal where girls sit- we all go ahead of time and reserve seats at the table!

and of course as always ur father davened beautifully! :-)

i always learned u cant use deodorant. hmm

oh i think there might have used to have been 2 rows of tables. i dunno.

did you come with me to neitz in israel at neve? when the cat came in? lol.

the dayschool/yeshiva minyan here ran really late so there would not have been a break, so they pushed mincha forward 15 min to give that much of a break. crazy stuff
